Truckaroo!
Over this past weekend a couple friends and I went to Truckaroo in DC. It’s basically all of the local food trucks in a big circle with live music. The trucks ranged from ice cream and cupcakes to grilled cheese, to macaroni and cheese, to italian, to hot dogs, to Korean tacos. Basically everything in between as well. It had potential to be fantastic. I wasn’t able to make it up there until about six thirty because of work so we didn’t stay for very long. The next one on July 13th I will be sure to spend the entire day with a big group of people. This one was last minute and riding Branch Avenue metro after dark is never a good idea for two girls. My absolute favorite thing that we tried was a lemon cupcake. I’m not normally big on icing but everything about this cupcake, especially the fresh lemon zest was perfect. I wasn’t very impressed with Takorean BUT I give them the benefit of the doubt. Their line was extremely long so perhaps they were just rationing. ( a friend who had had them earlier in the day loved it ) so I’m going to do some homework and add food trucks to my list of friends on Facebook so that the text time I am wondering around DC I will know where to find one for a quick meal. I will make sure that for my next Truckaroo I go into more detail :)
